AAP to Stage Protest Against BJP and Kejriwal's Arrest: 10 Updates

1. Protest at Shaheedi Park: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to stage a protest on Sunday against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the recent arrest of their leader Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). AAP leaders and supporters will gather at Shaheedi Park for the protest.

2. INDIA Bloc's Participation:Media reports suggest that the INDIA bloc will join AAP workers in the protest against Kejriwal's arrest in the now-scrapped liquor policy case. The protest will include candle marches and burning of effigies.

3. Enhanced Security Measures: Delhi Police has beefed up security in the national capital ahead of the protest. Multi-layered barricades have been deployed on roads leading to BJP headquarters, ITO, and in front of the ED office.

4. Paramilitary Deployment:To maintain law and order, paramilitary personnel equipped with anti-riot gear have also been stationed by Delhi Police.

5. Detention of Cabinet Ministers:On Saturday, Delhi Cabinet ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj were detained by police after they refused to disperse from Central Delhi's ITO intersection.

6. Detention of Protesters: Delhi Police detained over 150 protesters who were demonstrating near ITO on Saturday.

7. Legal Challenge by Kejriwal: CM Arvind Kejriwal has moved the high court challenging his arrest by the ED. However, an urgent hearing is unlikely before March 27 due to the court's closure for Holi.

8. Sunita Kejriwal's Visit: On Saturday evening, Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal's wife, visited him at the ED office. She conveyed her husband's message of returning soon to fulfill promises to the people.

9. Holi Boycott and "Gherao" Plan:AAP workers have announced a boycott of Holi celebrations and plan to "gherao" Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Tuesday.

10. Allegations Against BJP:AAP has urged the ED to file a case against BJP, alleging that the party received significant funds from an accused in the alleged Delhi excise policy scam through electoral bonds.

11. Arrest and Custody:CM Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in connection with the excise policy case. He is currently in ED custody until March 28 as per the Rouse Avenue Court's order.
